“The Kindergarten of Dreams”: The Erada Association, with German support, lights the candle of education in Gaza

Date

The Erada Association, with support from the German Friendship Association, visited the “Dreams Kindergarten” in Gaza to honor its director, Khitam Awad, for her inspiring efforts in ensuring the continuation of children’s education despite all the challenges.

The Erada Association for Community Development and Rehabilitation visited the Dreams Kindergarten, managed by Ms. Khitam Awad, who decided to defy the difficult circumstances and open her kindergarten’s doors to children, regardless of their number.

Despite all the obstacles, Ms. Khitam exerted her utmost effort, and the number of children in her kindergarten reached approximately 120, distributed across three shifts.

She was among the first to conceive of an “e-kindergarten” for distance learning, setting an inspiring example of creativity and diligence. The war and the disruption of communication did not deter her determination. She and a group of experienced teachers continued their work, ensuring that education continued despite all the challenges.

We at the Erada Association did not hesitate to stand by her side, with the guidance and support of our partners at the German-Palestinian Friendship Association.

All respect and appreciation to the members of the Board of Directors of the Friendship Association for their continued support and blessed efforts.
